Hypnosis
Hypnotherapy is a gentle
and non-invasive form
of light trance work. It is a way to reach beyond the conscious mind to the
subconscious where amazing information
can unfold. Because all change takes place within the subconscious mind, it
is at this level we seek to make a lasting, positive impact on your
conscious state of living.
For example,
it takes approximately 3 weeks to consciously break a habit. Habits are
behaviors that are done unconsciously. One has to become mindfully conscious
of the habit in order to break it and in turn change it. Using Hypnotherapy
we can often bypass the time frame required to make the change by
eliminating the original belief system and replacing it with a new one.
In addition, through
hypnosis, one is able to access areas of a client's life that may have been
previously blocked to their conscious mind. This may include such things as
traumas and abuse, which could be causing a major impact on their life. Also
this concept can be taken even further into 'Regression Therapy." In this
therapy, a client is regressed back into their previous lives to incidents
that have a bearing on the present issue that they are dealing with. Once
they have reviewed the incident and cleared the emotions and beliefs
surrounding that past issue, the present issue often clears. Whether one
believes in "past lives", or not, is not important to the success of this
therapy. The unconscious mind has a tendency to work with metaphors and
symbols. Working with past lives can become the metaphor that helps to solve
the problem.
Many of my clients have
encountered numerous and fascinating past lives. When focusing on the
present issue, they will encounter a series of lives and situations that
begin to form
a pattern. Once they begin to recognize the similarities within their
present life and the impact that it is having, they are able to make the
necessary changes to success..

Hypnosis - What is it?
- To many of us, the word hypnosis conjures up
fears and apprehensions. We think we are unconscious and under the control
of the hypnotist. Nothing could be further from the truth! When we are
under hypnosis, we are deeply relaxed physically, while mentally many
times more alert that in our normal state of awareness. We hear and
respond to everything and are active participants in the therapy. We have
great control over what we will or will not do, and will instantly reject
any suggestions uncomfortable to us.
If we like and want the suggestions given, we are allowed to enter the
subconscious mind.
This part of us is like a computer and must respond to what is allowed to
go into it.
We are all what the programming in the subconscious mind perceives us to
be. If this part
of the mind views us as fat, we become fat. If it perceives that we smoke,
we smoke -- and so on through smoking, weight loss and other problems.
Using hypnosis, we are able to access this subconscious computer and
reprogram ourselves to be whatever we wish to be!
I Don't think I can be hypnotized.
- Hypnosis is a natural state of mind. You
enter some form of hypnosis several times every day.
- ANYONE can enter hypnosis very
easily, provided you meet the following two things:
- You must WANT to be hypnotized
- (No one can be hypnotized against his
or her will).
- You must not have any fears nor
misconceptions about hypnosis and how it works.
Hypnosis is a 100% consent state!
- If at any time you want to emerge from the state of hypnosis, for any
reason, you will instantly, naturally open your eyes and become fully
alert. No one can keep you in hypnosis against your will.
Can Hypnosis hurt you?
- In over two hundred years of recorded hypnosis history, there is no
documented case of anyone being hurt with hypnosis. Hypnosis can only be
used in a positive way. If anyone tries to give you suggestions against
your morals, religious beliefs or anything you feel strongly about, you
could instantly emerge from the state of relaxation on your own.
What is a Hypnosis Session Like?
- At Oregon Hypnosis Clinic, your hypnosis session will be an extremely
pleasant experience, which consists of four distinct parts:
- The first is an evaluation/informational interview. During this
time, most of your questions will be answered.
- Your hypnotist will discuss your goals or problems with you and
recommend the course of action that will most rapidly achieve the
desired results: Your hypnotist will also answer any questions you may
have.
- Provided you are completely comfortable with the idea of hypnosis
and feel good about your hypnotist, the actual hypnosis session will
begin. You will be guided into a very deep state of mental and physical
relaxation. You will feel very relaxed, but extremely alert mentally.
You will be aware of everything around you. Suggestions for the change
you desire will be given to your powerful subconscious mind. These
suggestions will enter your subconscious and become part of you. The old
programming, which was keeping you from achieving your goal or was
causing a problem, will be removed allowing you to accomplish goals and
eliminate problems. You will emerge from hypnosis with strong
suggestions of good health and a positive attitude. You will feel better
than you have for a long, long time.
- The fourth and final part of your session consists of a brief
discussion of the session, making sure your desired change is felt
within you and, if necessary, setting up your next appointment.
